Communicable diseases in SUD treatment are not just medical concerns happening in the background. They often show up in the real-life challenges clients bring into counseling, including fear of testing, avoidance of care, unstable living conditions, stigma, risky behaviors, and the emotional weight of not knowing what to do next. In a field where clients may already be carrying shame, fear, and overwhelming life stress, understanding communicable diseases matters in everyday practice.

This course will help you understand communicable diseases as a practical part of effective SUD counseling, not as something separate from the work you do. It will guide you through the risks, realities, and counselor responsibilities that shape how these concerns appear in treatment settings. If you want to grow not just in what you know, but in how confidently, sensitively, and professionally you respond to clients facing these issues, this course is for you.
